The Little Earth - winner of the 3ZERO award

On May 2, 2024, the award ceremony for the first 3ZERO Award in the history of Tajikistan took place in Dushanbe. The event was attended by civil society organizations, representatives of the private sector, and international organizations. The environmental organization Little Earth won the prize in the “Education for All” category.

The Little Earth has been implementing sustainable and inclusive solutions and practices in education, energy and climate for over 25 years, working with the most remote and vulnerable communities. Over the years, dozens of organizations have benefited not only from our publications, consultations and assistance, but also from our ideas, undertaking similar projects and programs and adopting equipment distributed, practices implemented and approaches used. Our initiatives and introduced innovations have become an integral part of the environmental social movement in Tajikistan.

In total, more than 35 applications from all over Tajikistan were submitted for the award. Of these, 25 applications were from civil society and 10 from business. Based on the results of the jury’s assessment, 9 winners were selected in 3 categories, two of them - representatives of the private sector.
This award is another recognition of the results of our many years of work aimed at preserving the unique nature of Tajikistan and for the benefit of the sustainable development of our republic. The 3ZERO Award is being held for the first time and we are glad that the Little Earth was among its first winners. With a great pleasure we also congratulate our colleagues from other organizations who shared the victory in the nomination with us,” said Anton Timoshenko, executive director of the Little Earth.
The 3ZERO Award is an award for excellence in the development of Tajikistan for civil society organizations (CSOs) and representatives of the private sector. This event aims to demonstrate commitment to three pillars: zero carbon, zero social exclusion and zero poverty, each of which is critical to building a sustainable and equitable future in Tajikistan.

The purpose of the Prize is to create a legacy of environmental responsibility, social inclusion and poverty reduction in Tajikistan. The award also aims to promote CSOs and businesses and their role as an important partner to the government and international community in development initiatives.
